Rebranding & Redesign

In 2024, I guided and implemented the full identity and brand redesign of the Renku brand, rethinking its visual language and identity to better reflect its evolving mission. Working closely with the product manager and the head of engineering, I also shaped the content for the launch of Renku 2.0. Together, we positioned it as a confident step into the platform’s next chapter — building a more connected, transparent, intuitive and impactful research future.

Together with the product manager and a key member of the UI team, I designed the new Renku portal as part of the Renku 2.0 concept. This included the personalized dashboard, project page, group page, and several other core pages. Our goal was to bring the vision of “Connecting data, code, compute, and people” in one place to life through thoughtful UX and UI design.

The UI team leader’s choice to work with the Bootstrap library provided the foundation for our implementation. Building on this, we translated the concept into a clear and intuitive structure that makes collaboration seamless. To validate our ideas, I created interactive prototypes and, together with the product manager and a member of the UI team, carried out multiple rounds of user testing. These sessions gave us valuable insights, which I used to iteratively refine the design, ensuring the platform feels both intuitive and user-friendly.

Variable Fonts Animation

This project was originally developed in 2022 as part of my CAS studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). The initial goal was to experiment with variable fonts and typographic animations.

What began as an academic exercise later evolved into a website for my father’s printing business. Although the live website has since been redesigned, I decided to preserve the original design and source code in this repository as a reference and showcase of the concept.

Workshop with Studio Dumbar

On June 10, 2022 I had two days workshop with
Studio Dumbar from the Netherlands
at the Zurich University of the Arts in Zurich

The topic I have choosen was "Connection"
and the programs I have worked with are Stitch Fiddle , After Effects and QuickTime Player

Here is the result of two days experimenting with forms, colors, VR and many different kind of programs that are not mented to be used as a design tool.

The concept

The concept or idea for my work was "crochet" and "astrology".
Both ideas could work very well with the topic connection. The teachers decided to go for crochet.

The goal was to experiment as much as possible with new tools or programms,
in order to create unexpected and crazy motion design.

"Who believes sees more"

Part I: Buddhist monastery

"Who believes sees more" is a photo reportage based on two young people who are practicing two different religions in Vorarlberg. This first part is about a young monk living in the buddhist monastery Maria Grün in Feldkirch.

Markus is a native from Vorarlberg and lives since more than ten years ago in the monastery. There are about ten more students from other countries like Russia, India, Mongolia and Switzerland.

Since my first visit to the monastery Markus and everybody living there were always very open and friendly to me.

During my other visits I have met not only students but also local and foreign devotes to the Buddhism religion living in Vorarlberg or nearby.

The photos of the Buddhist series show also parts of the weekend activities at the monastery; at lunch time and in the offering ceremony; which takes place at the main room of the monastery and lasts for two consecutive hours without a break.

Part II: Catholic monastery

"Who believes sees more" is a photo reportage based on two young people who are practicing two different religions in Vorarlberg. This second part is about a young sister living in the catholic monastery Mariastern in Hohenweiler, Bregenz.

Sister Magdalena comes from Steiermark. She and her twin sister are living in the monastery since nine years.

During our first encounter, she explained me about the process until getting definitely in the monastery and the big coincidence with her sister. Both didn’t know from each other about their other’s future plans in the monastery far away from home.

Magdalena was very open and friendly with me and working with her was very easy because she was has cooperate professionally all the the time for the portraits.

Unfortunately I didn’t have access to the main daily rooms of the monastery, but I’m grateful to sister Magdalena for helping me for this photo reportage.

Ethos campaign

Ethos is an environmental footprint organization. And this was a non-real project I worked with my college Leena from Finland.

Our concept was based on The Seventh Generation Principle, which is based on an Australian aboriginal philosophy that says: "The decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world seven generations into the future".

Our task was to create the corporate identity, corporate design and a small marketing campaign of this organization.
